Due to the current environment of the vaping industry, we will be switching to synthetic nicotine effective immediately. We have tested our flavors using this product and believe there is no difference to the taste which will allow our customers the same great experience they are accustomed to. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at cs@thevaporchef.com. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
]]>We wanted to release an update about the current effects we are experiencing due to the pandemic. We are continuing to process orders and are currently working on a part-time basis with our employees working rotating shifts. As you may have seen on some of our other recent posts, this may cause your order to take an extra few days to arrive to you, but we are working as safely and diligently as possible to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers. Unfortunately this also means that we are still not allowing local pick ups at our Bristol location.
We are very thankful to be working among such a remarkable crew and are fortunate enough to keep earning our full paychecks during these trying times. We know that there are many who aren’t as fortunate and have lost their jobs or have been otherwise affected by the current situation we all face.
Because of production delays caused by our necessary schedule changes, we won’t be running as many promotions as we typically would. We will do our best to keep offering discounts on a holiday schedule as we understand the difficulties so many in our community are struggling with now, but we also don’t want to encourage an extreme influx of orders we would not be able to fulfill as expeditiously as we have always felt our customers deserve. We can not thank you enough for your patience, understanding and support.
When the dust finally clears, we hope that with the help of this valued community we will together be able to find ways to help those who have been affected.
We are truly grateful for all of the support we have received through the years. It’s because of you that we are able to weather this storm at all.
Make sure to keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for updates on promotions, news and some much needed silliness. We love you all. Please stay safe and healthy.Separate from the lung disease issue, vaping has been continuously targeted and labeled a source for minors to purchase and take up the habit of nicotine intake. The Vapor Chef alongside countless other vape brands have vocalized their strong stance on keeping these products out of the hands of minors. Immediate efforts and protocols regarding the issue were implemented across vape shops everywhere, including online retailers. When caricatures became an issue for discussion, we were proud to show that our labels, while simple, were among the brands that did not depend on a variety of colors and characters to market our flavors. These preemptive efforts notably set The Vapor Chef and others apart from those who were not willing to bend to the pressures of deeming regulations and policy. While we never regarded our work as anything more than responsible, we also noted that our efforts had also been completely overlooked by those who continued to attack the vape community and industry as the gateway to youth nicotine addiction.
Unfortunately large corporations such as Juul did not find the same passion in proving their commitment to public health regarding many of these issues and did their best to distance themselves from small vape businesses in the states. Just recently it was announced that Kevin Burns, the CEO of Juul would be replaced by K.C. Crosthwaite, an executive at tobacco company Altria, which purchased 35% of Juul in December. Altria Group, Inc. (previously known as Philip Morris Companies, Inc.) is an American corporation and one of the world's largest producers and marketers of tobacco, cigarettes and related products including brands such as Marlboro. According to Nielson, Juul holds over 70% of nicotine vape related sales in the United States as of October 2018. This has proven incredibly problematic in that small businesses are continually associated with the increase in youth using products made and marketed by large manufacturers associated with the tobacco industry like Juul.
Due to the recent bans across multiple cities and states, we have witnessed the beginnings of what we believe to be a crucial detriment to public health and information as many of our local shops have already closed their doors and more are weighing their options in continuing business. In this, we allow large corporations to further engulf and monopolize the vape industry, leaving hundreds of small business owners and employees wading in uncertainty and investment loss.
We humbly ask that you continue to call and email your local and state representatives to let them know how vaping has affected your life for the better. Your stories have brought countless smiles and immeasurable commitment to our ideals. We hope that you will take the time to make your voice heard to those with the authority to distort and annihilate our beloved industry.

]]>Maintaining Battery Safety
While there is no doubt that vaping has benefited the lives of those who struggled with tobacco addiction, the vaping industry has found itself under constant public scrutiny. “Exploding devices” has been a pretty consistent headline that typically forgoes any mention of user error. Most people outside of the vape community have become complacent to the risk involved with the use of various types of rechargeable batteries because of our constant daily use of them in our cell phones, laptops, tablets and even hybrid and electric cars. However, all of these batteries carry the risk of venting volatile chemicals or even exploding if subjected to misuse or extreme conditions.
Part of our job as a small business in the vape community is to ensure our customers and all those who are new to vaping have the knowledge necessary for safe and enjoyable vaping.
This means that while we advocate for our industry, we also should be conscious of the dangers involved with these devices so we may better educate and communicate.
Most vaping devices (mods) use 18650 batteries. These batteries are purchased with an already existing coating around them. This plastic coating exists to help ensure that the terminals are not exposed to any other metal objects or materials which could cause a short in the battery and potential harm to the user.
You will notice after a period of time that this plastic coating may get a bit worn and possibly crack, exposing the metal casing underneath.
It is extremely important to maintain proper battery upkeep.
If at any point, you notice a tear, snag or wear on the battery wrap, you should re-wrap your batteries as immediately as possible.
Re-wrapping can be achieved with a proper 18650 battery wrap and a plastic heat gun or blow dryer.
To Re-Wrap a Battery:
Once your battery looks as it did when it was originally purchased, you are all set!
When carrying your batteries outside of your device, make sure to transport the batteries in a protective case made of non-conductive material like plastic or silicone. Also remember that rechargeable batteries have a finite lifespan. Batteries will need to be replaced after a certain number of charges, depending on make and model. Generally it is best not to use 18650’s for longer than a one year period.

At this particular event, we will be launching five of our favorite flavors including :
Honey Pearry, Hobbes’ Blood, Doughnut Panic, Coolcumber Melon and Black PomPom.
While all the fine details of distribution are still in the process of being settled, we are very much looking forward to several meetings with distributors while we are over there. So stay tuned for updates pertaining to availability of our delicious e-liquids in the UK.

]]>The fact is, juice is a complex blend of different elements and quite often, it's not very good until those different flavors have a chance to meld into a singular, cohesive flavor profile...think about how much better a hearty stew tastes a day or two after it's been sitting in the fridge.
That being said, here is the process I use for steeping every juice I receive for review[1] (unless the vendor specifically requests that the juice be reviewed fresh from the mailbox).
I know there are many other methods (i.e. hot rice), but this is my method, and it works. I am hopeful that it will help out a few people who can't understand why everyone goes crazy for something like Indigo's tobacco flavors, when all they taste is hot gasoline and burning tree bark.
